Founder’s Story
I started Works with Faith because I love helping others. While searching for my purpose, someone once asked me, “What are you good at?” It took some time to think it over, and aside from poetry, the one thing that came to mind is that I’m really good at helping people.
Over the years, I’ve found ways to live that out—opening my door to friends who had nowhere to stay, donating clothing, providing meals directly to people experiencing homelessness instead of just giving money, and even giving a homeless man a ride when he needed it most. These experiences showed me that small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
When I started Works with Faith, I wanted to take that heart for helping others and turn it into something bigger. I didn’t want to simply donate money to organizations—I wanted to make sure the help actually reached the people who needed it most. By donating items directly—clothing, meals, and other essentials—I could see the impact firsthand and ensure it was truly making a difference.
Having lived in Allentown for a few years, I’ve noticed the city growing with new apartment buildings and development, but not always growing in care for the people who already call it home. My prayer is for Works with Faith to be part of a change—bringing resources, support, and hope to the community we have, making sure no one is overlooked, and showing that faith in action can lift up those who are already here.
